Recipe Yield: 24 pieces

INGREDIENTS

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough or dough sheet
24 mini smoked sausages (cocktail wieners)
1 large egg, beaten
1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
2 tbsp Everything Bagel seasoning

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Prepare the dough:

  • If using crescent roll dough, unroll it and press the seams together to form one large sheet.
  • If using a dough sheet, simply unroll it.

Using a knife or pizza cutter, slice the dough into 24 even strips (cutting lengthwise or crosswise, depending on preference).

3. Wrap the sausages: Place each mini smoked sausage at one end of a dough strip and tightly roll it up. Repeat until all sausages are wrapped.

4. Brush with egg wash: In a small bowl, whisk 1 egg with 1 tbsp water. Lightly brush each wrapped sausage with the egg wash for a golden, crispy crust.

5. Add seasoning: Generously sprinkle Everything Bagel seasoning over the top for extra crunch and flavor.

6. Bake until golden: Arrange the pigs in a blanket on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they aren’t touching. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

7. Serve & enjoy! Let them cool for 5 minutes, then serve warm with honey mustard, cheese sauce, or spicy sriracha mayo!

HELPFUL TIPS TO PERFECT THIS RECIPE

  • Use Puff Pastry for Extra Flakiness – Swap crescent dough for puff pastry if you want an even crispier texture! Just roll it slightly before cutting into strips.
  • Cheesy Upgrade – Place a small slice of cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack with the sausage before rolling for a melty surprise!
  • Make-Ahead & Freeze – Prep the pigs in a blanket and freeze them unbaked. When ready to serve, bake straight from frozen at 375°F, adding 3-4 extra minutes.
