Recipe Yield: 6 servings

INGREDIENTS

12 oz bowtie pasta
8 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
5 cups chopped romaine lettuce
1½ cups cherry tomatoes, halved
¾ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese, divided
⅓ cup Caesar dressing
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tsp Dijon mustard
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp kosher salt (or to taste)
½ cup seasoned croutons, lightly crushed
⅓ cup panko breadcrumbs
1 tsp olive oil
2 tbsp chopped fresh basil or parsley (optional)
Extra parmesan for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cook the pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and rinse briefly under cool water to stop the cooking. Shake off excess water and let cool completely.

2. Cook the bacon:
Meanwhile, cook the chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until deeply golden and crisp. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.

3. Toast the crunchy topping:
Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the panko breadcrumbs and cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring often, until lightly golden. Remove from heat and cool.

4. Make the Caesar dressing:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the Caesar dressing, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and salt until smooth and creamy. Reserve 2–3 tbsp of the dressing for serving.

5. Toss the pasta salad:
Add the cooled pasta, bacon, tomatoes, and ½ cup parmesan cheese to the bowl. Toss well until evenly coated. If making ahead, refrigerate at this stage.

6. Finish before serving:
Right before serving, gently fold in the chopped romaine lettuce and herbs. Sprinkle with crushed croutons, toasted panko, remaining parmesan cheese, and a little extra black pepper if desired.

7. Serve and enjoy:
Drizzle the reserved dressing over the pasta salad just before serving for the creamiest texture. Serve immediately for the best crunch, or chill for 15–20 minutes if you prefer it slightly colder while the romaine stays crisp.

Helpful Tips to Perfect This Recipe

  • Dress it in stages: Pasta naturally absorbs dressing as it sits. If making ahead, save 2–3 tbsp Caesar dressing to toss in right before serving for the creamiest texture.
  • Use freshly grated parmesan: Fresh parmesan melts into the dressing better and gives this BLT Caesar Pasta Salad a richer, more restaurant-style flavor.
  • Keep the crunch separate: For the best texture, wait to add the romaine, croutons, and toasted panko until serving. This keeps everything crisp and fresh.
