Creamy Spinach Feta Rigatoni is the kind of comforting pasta that feels indulgent yet refreshingly simple. First, tender rigatoni is tossed into a silky garlic cream sauce. Then, fresh spinach melts beautifully into every bite, while tangy feta adds bold contrast. Because the ingredients are familiar, the flavors feel comforting. However, the finish is elegant and modern.
This dish comes together quickly, making it perfect for busy weeknights. At the same time, it feels special enough for relaxed entertaining. Moreover, the creamy sauce clings perfectly to the pasta, so every forkful delivers rich flavor. Traditionally, Mediterranean cooking often pairs greens with salty cheeses, and feta has been used for centuries in warm dishes, not just salads. That tradition shines here.
Whether served alone or alongside grilled chicken or shrimp, this pasta remains versatile and satisfying. Most importantly, it proves that simple ingredients, when layered thoughtfully, create something truly memorable.

Recipe Yield: 4 servings
INGREDIENTS
12 oz rigatoni pasta
¾ cup crumbled feta cheese
¼ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
5 oz fresh baby spinach
4 cloves garlic, finely minced
½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
¾ cup heavy cream
3 Tbsp olive oil
½ tsp salt
½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
¼ tsp dried oregano
2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
½ cup pasta cooking water (reserved)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Cook the pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add rigatoni and cook until al dente. Before draining, reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
2. Sauté the aromatics:
Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a wide skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
3. Wilt the spinach:
Next, add spinach to the skillet. Stir gently until wilted and glossy, about 1–2 minutes.
4. Build the sauce:
Reduce heat to medium-low. Pour in heavy cream and reserved pasta water. Stir well, then season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes.
5. Add cheese and pasta:
Add cooked pasta to the skillet. Sprinkle in Parmesan and half of the feta. Toss until creamy and evenly coated.
6. Finish and serve:
Remove from heat. Top with remaining feta and fresh parsley. Serve warm.
Helpful Tips to Perfect This Recipe
- Balance the Creaminess: Because feta is naturally salty, season lightly first, then adjust after adding cheese for perfect balance.
- Protect the Spinach Color: Add spinach just until wilted; overcooking dulls both flavor and color.
- Use Pasta Water Wisely: Starchy water helps emulsify the sauce, making it silky instead of heavy.
