Fudge became popular in American kitchens in the late 19th century as a simple confection made for sharing. This version takes a playful turn by channeling the comforting flavor of sugar cookies, one of the most loved baked treats of all time. As a result, the dessert feels familiar while still feeling elevated and special.

Moreover, this no-bake recipe comes together quickly and sets beautifully. It’s ideal when you want something impressive without turning on the oven. Whether you’re making it for a party platter, a cozy weekend treat, or a thoughtful edible gift, this sugar cookie–inspired fudge delivers rich flavor, creamy texture, and bakery-style charm in every bite.

Recipe Yield: 16 servings

INGREDIENTS

2 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup white chocolate, melted (for drizzle)
2 Tbsp white, pink or red sugar sprinkles (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Prepare the pan:
First, line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides. Then, set aside.

2. Cook the base:
Next, add the butter, granulated sugar, and heavy cream to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the butter is fully melted and the mixture becomes smooth and gently bubbling (do not allow it to boil rapidly), about 3–4 minutes. Then, remove from heat.

3. Add flavor and chocolate:
Immediately stir in the vanilla extract, almond extract, white chocolate chips, salt, and gradually add the powdered sugar while stirring continuously. Continue mixing until the fudge is completely smooth, thick, and fully combined with no visible lumps.

4. Set the fudge:
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Then, drizzle melted white chocolate over the top and sprinkle with sugar sprinkles if using.

5. Chill and slice:
Finally, refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until fully set. Once firm, lift out, slice into squares, and serve.

HELPFUL TIPS TO PERFECT THIS RECIPE

  • Control the heat carefully: Keeping the mixture at a gentle simmer prevents graininess and ensures a smooth, creamy sugar-cookie-style fudge texture.
  • Use quality white chocolate: High-quality white chocolate melts evenly and enhances the vanilla flavor without overpowering sweetness.
  • Chill before slicing: Allowing the fudge to fully set creates clean edges and a soft yet stable interior, perfect for gifting or stacking.
