   This is a great, simple recipe for Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal. A must try delicious, flavorful and savory breakfast. Just the right amount of cinnamon spice and chopped walnuts added to sweet green apples and simmered with oats… How can you make this morning get any more delicious? After you try this recipe you are more than welcome to experiment on your own and replace the apples with blueberries, strawberries or peaches. Or whatever your heart desires. Keep in mind if you are using different fruits you may have to saute them for a less time than the apples.

   For the healthier version of this recipe, you can easily replace the sugar with honey or simply do not include this ingredient at all. It is a nutritious and quick breakfast, that will fill your kitchen with a wonderful aroma while you cooking. Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

INGREDIENTS

3 medium Granny Smith Apple
1/2 cup organic Cane Sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped Walnuts (optional)
1 pinch Sea Salt
3 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tbsp. Vanilla
3 cups Oats
7 cups Water

DIRECTIONS

1. Peel, core, and cube apples.
2. In a medium skillet add apples and saute stirring constantly, for about 15 minutes.
3. Add cinnamon and saute for 5 more minutes.
4. In the meantime, in a medium pot combine water, oats, sea salt, sugar, vanilla and walnuts.
5. Bring it to a boil, add apples and cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes.
